Upgraded product visualizations lead to a new website and improved positioning
The Problem
Ridewell has always made a premium product backed by excellent customer service at an affordable price. But, over time their image became outdated, and the product visuals and website no longer reflecting the true quality of their product.
The Solution
We created brand new product renderings that rivaled product photography and exceed others in the marketplace. This created the basis for a new, responsive website that up-leveled Ridewell’s brand image to recapture premium market share.
The Result
The new renderings and mobile-responsive website, built with OEM customers in mind, allowed Ridewell to reintroduce themselves to the market, reminding customers of their value.
The Details
Ridewell has a 50+ year history of leading their industry in the design and manufacturing of heavy duty truck and trailer suspensions, and have maintained a strong position as an OEM supplier for decades. Allowing their superior product and customer service to speak for themselves, over time, Ridewell’s corporate brand, marketing materials, website and product visuals eventually became dated. This left the door open to competition to start putting pressure on their market share.
We first worked with Ridewell on improving their product images, opting to upgrade Ridewell’s existing 3D product renderings with updated versions. We utilized newer technology and techniques to produce true-to-life renderings that rivaled photography and provided additional flexibility for future marketing use.
In creating the initial renderings, we took the time to establish a consistent style and palette of textures specifically customized to meet Ridewell’s needs. This attention to detail allowed us to showcase certain features, details, benefits and advantages unique to Ridewell products. Thus, we offered their customers a visual experience that only a rendering can.
In doing this, not only did we avoid the hassles and expenses of studio photography — including the logistics involved in getting large, heavy objects in front of a camera — we completely removed the costs of retouching photography in Photoshop to get the images just right.
Once our process and the initial renderings were completed and approved, we produced high-quality renderings of all of Ridewell’s products in a matter of a few days. This afforded Ridewell a consistent, branded product look that was visually just as high-quality as the physical product itself.
In addition, producing renderings in 3D allows us immediate access to a full scope of high-quality, visual assets. If we need a high-resolution images for a trade show booth, printed piece or otherwise, we can now render it on demand. We can also create additional renderings showcasing key features of certain products, display alternate angles, and display products in exploded and cut-away views. Arguably, the real power comes from 3D video animations; we’re now able to easily create product overview videos in a manner live action can’t match.
Armed with new product visuals, Rains Birchard then redesigned Ridewell’s website from the ground up. We reorganized content from the prior website; namely, deciding to create a simple, easy-to-navigate page for the high volume of the product and technical information required. We built a mobile-responsive website on an updated WordPress content management system, introduced additional brand assets, and new category visuals. These features allow Ridewell to be customer-neutral throughout their site, while still showcasing relevant content to the segments they serve.
The new website and 3D visuals allowed Ridewell to reintroduce themselves to the market, their customers, and push back against competitors seeking to encroach on their market share. In the process, we were able to increase lead generation and ultimately, introduce new sales opportunities for Ridewell.
